Well, this year's Orange Bowl is exciting, unless you're a FSU fan.

"Roll, roll, Seminole Wind, blow like you're never gonna blow again . . . "

Yep, Osceola's cryin' tonight. Only question right now is whether Georgia will set an Orange Bowl record in scoring; the current record is 70 . . . And suddenly I don't feel so bad about Mizzou losing to Georgia earlier this season, in Georgia's house, by one score.

We've been watching it. I think many of Florida's regular players are transferring & didn't show up for this game. Georgia is so far ahead I've gotten bored with it. Yes, I wanted Georgia to win.

I don't understand why CFB is allowing any movement in the transfer portal until after the bowl games are done. That, or why players who enter the portal aren't showing up for the bowl games they helped their teams earn.

I also don't like seeing star players sit out the bowl games because they're saving themselves for the NFL Draft. Whatever happened to loyalty?

EDIT: Then, again:

I predicted this......all the huffing and puffing lately from FSU and the fact Georgia was already pissed about the seasons events......players sitting out or not GA was taking this....I'm not a GA fan at all...my SEC team is TN...go VOLS beat Iowa on MON 01JAN24!!!!

For the record I'm mostly a Navy fan....no really, they used to have a team and went bowling every year.....I'm totally serious they really did! lol

I guess the players are doing what they believe is best for them. I don't like it but I can't criticize them for it either. One injury could end a multi-million dollar career.

I'm not up on college or pro football but it appears from the little I've seem that it is now a joke.... just another professional sports game and the sad thing is the colleges have allowed it.... but it is all about the money and the billions of dollars that can be brought in by advertising to the sheep that sit and watch it.

AFAIK the only players for Mizzou who didn't show up for the Cotton Bowl were two guys with injuries; even the transfer-portal opt outs were there. Ohio State, of course, had their starting QB and WR1 sitting out due to the transfer portal and the draft, respectively, and much caterwauling from Buckeyes fans has been had for the past two days because of it. Although given how fired-up Missouri's defense was Friday night, it might not have mattered much. Especially once Brady Cook and Cody Schraeder found their groove.

I guess it's more a matter of team culture than it is players. Mizzou showed up as a team, and it showed. Georgia showed up as a team last night, and it showed. FSU . . . didn't.

As far as sitting out, I can't say I blame someone who has a legitimate shot to make the NFL.

That is a life changing amount of money that could get derailed due to injury in a meaningless game

GA was motivated, FSU not so much. They validated the "snubbing" of FSU in the playoff lineup. FSU did lose a lot of players to the portal, but still. That is one serious ass-whoopin'

I understand the first line for FL basically boycotted the game and refused to play. Everyone one of them needs a reality check. "if you scared, say you scared." Felony State University wimped out of the contest.
