om singlesix questions?

First off, I would appreciate some help with year of manufacture, s/n 1938xx; And second, would this single six have come with a magnum cylinder? Thanks in advance!! Jim.

Ok, by the portion of the serial number you posted, this gun was shipped in 1962. As for the info on the extra cylinder,, most likely,,, BUT,, w/o more info we can't be sure.
The best way to get the proper info on how it was shipped would be to spend $10 with Ruger Records to let them research the gun. If you get that letter from Ruger, it'll list how the gun was shipped by the model info, such as; RSS5X,, with the "X" signifying the extra cylinder.

1938xx is also right at the time Ruger started using the XR3-RED grip frame, so yours would be either XR3 or XR3-RED.
If your gun letters from the factory as an RSS5W and it has an XR3-RED grip frame, you have a very scarce gun there!!
