What designates an 'old' Bearcat? I have been looking, on line, at one that is a 1970 model. Would that fall into the old or new category? Do they all have the transfer bar or was that a later addition?

The first Bearcats , Model BC 4 were made from 1958 thru 1970, serial numbers 1 thru 90-25622. Then the Old Super Bearcats , Model SBC 4, were made from 1971 thru 1974 serial numbers 91-0001 thru 91-64417.
The NEW model Bearcats, Model SBC 4 and KSBC 4 made from 1993 to present and all have 93-xxxxx serial numbers and the safety transfer bar system.

Thanks Sam. I now know that the one I am looking at is a non-tranfer bar model. Hopefully I'll be able to get it.
