I ride him bareback with no bridle, just a rope around his neck.

That's a good lookin' pony. My folks just lost one "Darky" that they'd had for 29 years. He chased lots of cows and hauled my mother around on many elk hunts during his time with my family. In fact, he supplied my daughter with her first ride when she was younger. He is sorely missed.

There isn't anything like a great horse :)
My wife and I have three... errr or should I say she has two and I have one... lol
We were lucky enough to be able to bring a mare into our home last summer, who happens to have the sweetest personality of any horse (I've worked with hundreds) I've ever known. She is a great cow horse and much to my dismay is technically my wifes horse. Me, I recently got myself a great little guy who is 8 years old and has a lot of "cowiness". Someone before me cowboyed him up pretty good and at this point he is learning that we can work together without pain involved. Every time I quietly work him through an anxious moment for him, he gets better. I know soon that he and I will be a great team

I agree. There is nothing like a good horse.

When I travel to my hunting camp I pass two horse farms. One has these beautiful horses that are chestnut in color. I'm not sure if they are chestnuts or bays but they are beautiful.

I'm not trying to hijack this post. But for you horse people, I often thought about stopping for a quick visit. I know that they are running a business and probably don't have time to waste but it would be nice to talk with them about their horse operation. What do you think?

The horses in the pictures I posted are chestnuts. Bays are a deeper brown color with black manes and tails.

Horse farms are usually busy places that are interested in talking to people interested in spending money on their horses, and may not be inclined to just shoot the breeze. Unless they are heavily into shooting or hunting of course.

If you know the names of the farms you may be able to call or e-mail them ( they may well have websites, most horse breeders do nowadays)
