I have an old, but in great shape, Ruger 3 screw .22 cal single six with 5 1/2" barrel and a serial number of 20438. Does anyone know how and where I can find out just how old this firearm might be and what it might be worth? It has original bluing and original stag grips. Please help! Thanks - Denny

Denny, the Factory sold stag grips were shipped to the Ruger dealers as an "enhancement" item back in the mid 50's up until the early 60's. They were also sold directly to the customers via Ruger's parts department. All have Ruger's "black eagle" medallion set in a location that is a little bit different than where the standard black plastic grips were mounted. Skilled collectors can usually spot them right away.
Current Value? Get some decent quality digital pics and up load them to a server. The server will provide a "URL" for the image (most provide a simpler Image Code tag, as well. Look in Ruger Forum's Gallery section for hints.
