I just aquired this in a swap and am not sure what it's worth. I used to have one of the new model Super Blackhawks but not the old style. This one was mfg. in 1972. The gun is almost flawless, a small chip in one corner of the grips. A friend said that the holster is worth something. What you see in the picture is all that I have, no paperwork or box. I know the gun has been dismantled, the hammer and triger has jeweled sides. I'm not wanting sell it, I'd just like to know what it's worth to see if I made a good swap. I swapped a S&W 19-3 with a 6" bbl for this and I know what I had in the S&W.

Wrong grip panels (much newer vintage) and the jeweling seriously effect the value (in my book, anyway).
One can get the proper grips here on the Forum. Black Eagle medallions, blued grip screw and escutcheons.

None the less, its' a fine o'l Old Model Super. If you could share the serial number one of the many collectors here on the Forum may be VERY interested in your Old Model Super Blackhawk!

Just my humble opinion...........

flatgate

PS NICE holster, as well!

I'd replace those grips, and then enjoy a sweet OM 44! With proper grips,, I'd rate the gun at $500,, and add another C-note for the holster!

Here's the "72" super Blackhawk I just got...it has the squashed chicken medalion on the grips and is all dead nuts original....from the son of the man that bought it new it looks like under 100 total rounds fired in it's life...no box or paperwork but has a nice old black tooled holster with it..any "blemishes" are my cheap camera and my lack of photo abilities..my serial # is 80-957xx....way under $500 for it...and not for sale..sorry about the thumb that has to be clicked.

:D I'm not a purist collector but I like it! The grips aren't original to the gun, but I like them better than the factory ones. As for the jeweling, again it ain't original but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Someone must have taken a lot of pride in that gun to make "the way he liked it". Enjoy a beautiful and unique gun. I have a NM SBH, but would like to have an OM someday. Don't let these collectors drag you down, no offense but I think some of these guys would rather own the original box than the gun.

I am not a collector, I am not a collector. On the other hand I have seemed to accumulate some Rugers. I think the grips on the op's gun look great(squashed chicken and all). What CCTerry said about the boxes is a hoot. Of course no offense is meant to those who are collectors.
