When you are happily bonded to the person you love each day holds something special for you. For me, today was special not because of any spectacular event, but rather because Penny and I have spent it together. We slept side by side of course, and arm in arm the first part of the night. I have to laugh because it's very difficult for me to turn over in bed due to my spinal troubles. I have to kinda flop really hard and sorta bounce into a different position. Bless Penny's heart she sometimes is a light sleeper, but when I flopped and bounced without warning I must have startled her from a dream as she loudly proclaimed "Whoa!! Cowboy down!!". She's a rodeo fan and I can only imagine what she was dreaming about LOL. We spoke a few moments and I apologized profusely. We both chuckled and returned to sleep.
After waking, we scanned the news together and she ate a bite while I drank coffee. We showered and got ready for our day, and I gathered a few things for us to drop off at Megan and Luke's home this evening to help them do some prettying up their new nest. Together Penny and I took little Rocky to the doctor to see about getting his teeth cleaned, and stopped at Rally's for a burger and ice cream cone each using our ever-present coupons. Rocky got to share pieces of our sandwiches too of course, but we drew the line at licks of our cones. A quick trip by Gale's distributors for new plastic cartridge boxes to hold some muzzle loading paper cartridges I've started making, and then home.
When we returned home Penny had to use her lymphedema pneumatic electric stockings to reduce the terrible swelling in her heart surgery vessel-farmed left leg, and I chose to snuggle next to her and watch a little TV while her treatment took place.
The rest of Penny's and my afternoon was spent just hanging out together on our Tempurpedic bed watching TV. Penny rested her beautiful head on my chest with my arm around her shoulders...our normal sleep position.
Like I said. Nothing earth shaking happened. It was simply another normal nice day together, talking, pondering and listening.
Folks please remember each day to say "Thank You" to God for the loved ones in your life, the roof over your head and the food in your tummy. Each of these things are gifts not to be taken for granted.
