Pretty standard for a lot of states that most gun laws can't be superseded by local laws....
One of the reasons I don't like our current governor... back when he was the attorney general a local county tried to do that with their parks and he had one of his minions write a letter that said ... well, someone will have to get arrested for it and then the courts can decide.... two years later another county proposed the same thing and he wrote that they absolutely could not, just so happens he was running for governor then.
