Medium height will usually do, but depends on the shape of the bell on the scope, how far back you need to mount it, and whether or not your rifle has sights (26" could be a B or S). For most people, you will need to mount it as far back as possible. I have a 50mm 3.5-10 Leupold on a 1B and it fits perfectly with med rings.
