Is this the new 1911 copy, 7/8 scale? If so, I would love to shoot one.... maybe even own one.Olsherm said:
If you're talking about their 1911 style pistol, I've only handled one in the LGS.
Appears well-made, but along with scaling down the pistols overall size, the sights got scaled down too, and they are too tiny for my 50-something eyes!

The 7/8ths scale Browning 1911-22 appears to be well made, however three things keep me from purchasing one.
First, as a copy of the military pistol it is equipped with miniscule fixed sights which are a challenge to acquire quickly.
Second, $500 for an epoxy finished gun with plastic grips is a bit rich. Third, cost and availability of spare magazines. Mags are expensive and very hard to come by. Not one of my local Browning dealers has received any spare mags for the Baby Browning. Heck, they go months on end with no mags available for the Buckmark!

ALWAYS consider magazine availability before buying any auto pistol or rifle. And remember, non-factory replacements may not work.

Pistol/rifle magazines are like digital photos, unless you have at least two copies you are out of luck if something happens to the original.
A pistol without a magazine is either a cumbersome single-shot or with a magazine dis-connector, an odd shaped rock!
I purchased a Baikal BK-161 semi-auto .22LR rifle this spring. It came with two 9 round mags, one of which has feeding issues. The dealer had no spares. The importer had a back-order on their sight for spares. I ordered 4 and waited a month for them. The importer sold out of the mags within days and there are no more available. They don't even list the mags on the parts list anymore, though the rifle is still in production.

A very nice gun and I've been tempted also. But look at the new Colt 22 auto in 3 varieties of sights also. But I don't remember if the Colts are scaled down.
