There are several post about canted front sights on Ruger guns, but I can honestly say that all of mine are spot on, because when sighted in the rear sight blade is centered in the rear sight or very close.
I recently took ownership of a 5 1/2" Freedom Arms M97 in 44 Sp., the previous owner was selling to purchase another M97 in a different caliber. He said he had put about 250 rounds thru it, except for the cylinder ring it looked new. When I first fired it it was shooting about 3" left, when I went to adjust the rear sight it was way to the right, more so than any gun I own.
I would think that the front sight is on straight, and with 2 different shooters getting the same results it is not shooting style. It is not an accuracy problem as I have shot several good groups.
I believe the reason is that the barrel seems to whip to the left with recoil, my other guns seem to come straight back. It may be the grip shape and the light weight, the grip seems small at the top, but I know it was designed to be smaller and there are always trade offs.
Here is a pic, anybody else had this result?
