Not a BEAR attack but just as deadly

Let's face it: They live where just about anything will eat them if it can: Polar bears, wolves, even arctic foxes if they get a chance. They just gotta be tough!!

The Sirius Dogsled Patrols carry Glock 20 for polar bears and modified 1917 Enfields for musk oxen=they alternate soft pont loads with FMJs!

I deal with wildlife for a living.
I have zero fear of any of them,, but I have a HUGE amount of respect for ALL of them. I never take anyone of them for granted by saying; "Ahh, their not bad, they just have a bad reputation."
Even a lowly squirrel can cause a lot of physical harm if it decides to bite or attack you. Maybe not the potential for a fatality,, but serious injuries.

A Musk Ox is not a little creature,, and we puny humans are no physical match for one. Prayers up for the family!

We raised cattle when I was growing up. Even a calf once they get to 400 plus pounds can really really hurt you even if they don’t mean to.

I've handled livestock (mostly cattle and horses) since I was 5 years old. I can't recall all the injuries inflicted upon me by those animals but here are a few: at least 4 broken fingers, 4 or 5 broken foot bones, torn knee ligaments, 7 broken ribs, fractured pelvis, and a couple broken teeth. One of the more serious ones happened when a mama cow knocked me down and broke 3 ribs. If her hoof had hit squarely, she would have crushed my ribcage. Around 2000 Mom's Cousin was found in his pasture with a cow's hoofprint in the center of his chest. Sheriff's investigation concluded that the 70+ year old man had been knocked down and stepped on by a cow with a new calf.
Large animals (wild or domestic) can and often are dangerous.

As a retired Wildlife Biologist, I agree!

People don't realize the strength of wild animals. It took 7 of us to hold a tame wooly monkey (one each on the limbs, one on the head, one on the tail and the vet with the syringe.) A little capuchin took 2 of us to hold him while transporting. Got a scar on my hand from a tranquilized black bear (he brushed my hand while we were pulling a tooth).
