I'm looking for a picatanny rail for my MKIII 22/45. The stock scope mounting base will not work for me, I need a full slotted rail. The only one I can find is the Volquartsen (VC3PM), and the $50 price seems a little high. Any ideas?

Thanks

This VQ rail is only $30 at Brownells:

That one requires rear sight removal.

That VQ rail is perfect, as long as I could still see the irons with it on... And $30 is a lot better than $50, Thanks very much!

Upon closer inspection, that VQ rail won't help. It's a weaver rail with only 7 slots, where as VC3PM is a picatinny rail with 11 slots, much more capable... It looks like they make 2 different ones, and now I need to find the other one. At least I get to learn a bunch from you guys while I'm looking. My ultimate 22/45 is almost done!

That one requires rear sight removal.

I haven't used one, but the description says: "Secures to factory pre-drilled receiver holes with three, steel Allen head screws for a solid installation unaffected by recoil."

That one won't allow the use of the iron sites, and only has 7 slots. I have been trying to compare different scope setups, but can't mount most of them due to the limited nature of the stock mount, and the 11 slots provided by the VQ VC3PM should solve that. I guess if nobody besides VQ makes a good rail that allows iron sites, I will just have to put another VQ part on it.. :) It will be right at home with all the rest of them!
