No Sunday Paper

This is dedicated to all who are seniors, to all who know seniors, and to all who will become seniors.

"WHERE is my SUNDAY paper?!"

The irate customer calling the newspaper office, loudly demanded to know where her Sunday edition was.

"Madam", said the newspaper employee, "today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow, on SUNDAY".

There was quite a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter, ..

..."Well, sh&t,
that explains why no one
was at church either.

Hey when you are retired. The way you know what day it is. The FAT paper comes on Sunday.
The Baltimore Sun's Saturday edition is the "FAT" edition. Sunday is a skinny. If they ever change it I am going to be totally confused.

I resemble that. Usually I can recognize the weekends. That's when all the crowds are in the stores and the barber is busy. I avoid those.

Thanks for the laugh out loud funny this morning. I've taken the privilege of forwarding to my children and several 'old' friends.

Thanks

Mike

I still get a paper on Sunday morning but it is usually soaking wet. They throw it to the low spot on the driveway and the thin plastic is ripped to pieces and it lets the water in.:D

Well If you have any Dumbocrap signs in your yard the paper person must be a Republican.
Our paper is always double wrapped in plastic and thrown to the high point of the drive. Since all pilots love freedom he knows we are Republicans :D :D :D :D :D

So, it usually rains every Sunday morning? Or are your sprinklers out of adjustment???

During the rainy season (summer) it rains almost every day. Anything else you would like to know? :?

My experience from living in Florida - 16 years - is that the daily rain fell primarily in the late afternoon. To avoid wet newspapers, most everybody had plastic waterproof newspaper boxes erected at the end of their driveway, usually next to their mailbox. I would think that one or two, maybe three wet papers would be enough motivation to do something about it. But maybe your HOA doesn't allow newspaper boxes...
