No end in sight

We got the message this morning that my older half-brother's widow passed away. No relief from this trend.
Yesterday was the funeral of my employee who died unexpectedly last Tuesday. Daughter accompanied me to that funeral and her effort was definitely noticed. Her presence certainly had a stabilizing effect on me and helped me maintain composure.

It seems as we age,, we get to attend more & more funerals. The price we pay for living longer & knowing more people.

I got a pleasant surprise yesterday on the flip side. I came from a HUGE family on my dads side. Grandpa was married twice. By his first wife he had six kids. His wife died young so he immediately married my grandmother who just arrived from Europe from the same area he had immigrated from. Grandma was a young widow with a infant son. They married immediately and my dad was the oldest of ten more! Grandpa raised seventeen kids!
I left home early and located 2,000 miles from where I was raised. Of course I didn't get home much and lost most contact with my many uncles, aunts and cousins. I knew all but one aunt had died and time got away on me after my parents died and I assumed she must be dead. I got word yesterday she is alive and going on 102!

Hi,

The last two years have cost me about a half dozen people: friends, clients, old classmates I ran around with. It's hard to accept that every time we flip the page on the calendar, there are new names to add to our list.

A prayer comes for you and your family, Mobuck, for your strength and perhaps some respite from the losses.

Lost my Mom a year ago. She was 92. I remember her saying how hard it was to lose all of your family and friends. She was one of the last of her "group". She really missed talking and visiting them.

its the admission price we all pay to face God. we brought it on ourselves, but someday for some...we will never experience it again. but until then, we endure this fact of life on earth. sad one indeed.
