Recently I had some difficulty getting my cylinder on and off--as well as the trigger hanging up in a half-cocked position. Finally disassembled the grip frame and trigger assembly completely--apparently the detente spring had jumped out of the gate latch as well as the transfer plate and pawl getting out of alignment/sync. Everything is back to operating normally .

The only thing I'd ever done previously was a spring job so I'm not sure what actually causes these conditions--is this a problem that can occur with some frequency? I never experienced this with years of use of my 44 SBH which I did the same kind of spring job on.

On an unrelated note, I gave up on trying to find an aftermarket rail for the gun and had the old weaver 301 I had drilled and tapped--just one additional screw which can easily be removed and restored to original irons. It's the screw just aft of the rail slot at the bottom and hopefully will eliminate the recoil torque problems I had previously experienced.

Yeah--but even reloading these rounds ain't cheap! BTW--I live in Bass Harbor on MT Desert.
