Well I put the replacement night sight on my .357 mag. LCR and It is hard to get used to!!! If you try to line up a good sight picture, you will have a POI of about 5" or 6" low at about 7 yards. You have to align the front sight to lay on top of the two rear sight posts. Don't think Ruger should have done that. It will be hard for the average shooter to remember that in a bad situation when he has to use it!!!

Still love my LCR though.

Good to know- as I'm thinking of adding the XS like with my two 38+Ps before this .357.

What ammo are you using?

As of now I am using reloads. I am using a 125 gr. xtp and Red Dot powder. But if you don't reload I would do with Hornady Personal Defense rounds. I do enjoy the idea of the new night sight and am glad I figured out why I was not hitting where I was aiming!!

Did the same thing on my LCR-357, shot 6 inches low at 7 yards. I could not get used to the night sights so i put the original one back on and it shoots really well again.

I put the XS sight on my LCR 357, and do not recall any problem shooting 38 Specials with it. I was shooting 4.7 Unique with 158 Round Nose. My standard IDPA Match load.

I put the Green Fiber Optic Hi Viz Sight on my LCR-22. It shoots low as discribed above, but I knew that when I changed the front sight. The factory 22 front sight is taller. I use it as my practice J Frame. Using it for Combat Practice I have no problem as I put the Green Dot over the back sight when in a hurry anyway. Slow carefully aimed fire is when you notice it shoots low.

I put HiViz on my LCR .357 and it shoots point of aim. Yes, magnums are punishing. I use Remington 125 gr +P HP for carry ammo. Love that gun!

Anyone have the XS sight and use Speer's 135 gr. SB Magnum load?

I wonder how that hits with the XS front sight?

I have shot the Speer .38+P short barrel load, and Glaser .38+P Safety Slugs, in my LCR with XS sights and they were both low at 7-10 yards while holding the recommended XS sight picture. Holding the XS dot above the rear notch should do the trick. I'm going to try that next.
