Classy looks there. Blued gun,,, with the white grips,,, nice contrasting medallion. Put in a strong, yet functional holster that carries a simple yet powerful adornment.

Looks great but there's one thing I'm a little curious about. How is the medallion fastened on? Is there a screw or something on the inside that may scratch the gun while pushing it in and pulling it out?

Any time I have a leather holster that has snaps or Conchos. I find a way to glue a leather patch on the inside so it will not scratch the weapon.

It's sewn at the mouth which would imply a lined holster, if they went through that trouble the concho base should be hidden between layers. Never know, though.

I thought of that but it would seem that installing the concho before the lining would kind of put in in the way when finishing the holster. Conchos like that usually have a very flat head screw that holds them on. I was kind of thinking about a glued in patch of leather also.

Below is a pic showing the flat screw head. When I first starting using the Texas star conchos in grips, I tried counterboring the back of the grip to accept the screw. I kind of thought it might weaken the grip too much at that point by having the wood counterbored on the front and the back like that so I abandoned that idea.

Most I've used are a rivet back. When I construct a holster with a screw back I install the screw and continue construction as normal. When it comes time to finish it I do, then the concho gets installed with some red loctite. Works like a champ.

It's pretty coming to see stitching around a snap, concho, or stud base to cover it on older holsters though.

I guess that's why a lot of conchos are mounted on a strap that goes around the holster.

But it does have a nice clean look as in Ed's holster.
