Since then, he lost last week, and is losing this week, and has either been benched, or benched himself.
Many have predicted he'd fade more and more as the season dragged on. Will he finish the season, or will they begin to invest in the backup (Ostweiler, or whatever his name is)?

It was just announced that the 'benching of Peyton Manning', in a game in which he broke the all-time passing yards record set by Brett Favre, was a COACHING decision.
How's that for a game to remember...Set an all-time record, and get benched after 4 INTs.
Chiefs now lead 29-0 with Manning out of the game.
The Broncos have NEVER been shut out at home!
Well, they still haven't been shut out at home; they scored two late TDs. Final was 29-13 Chiefs. Otherwise, Denver just utterly melted down. God, that was fun to watch.
If Jamaal Charles had hung on to the ball the first time around - he fumbled three times when the Chiefs hosted the Broncos in KC, including the one at the end the Broncos returned for the go-ahead TD in the final two minutes - KC would have swept them this year. And probably wouldn't have gone into that five-game tailspin the first half of the season, for that matter.
Manning didn't really look good in that first game, either; what kept him and Denver in it was that KC had a total five turnovers to Denver's one - on Manning; he threw a pick-six to Marcus Peters - and beat themselves. IIRC, KC coughed the ball up three times in Denver's red zone in that game.
This time around, the Chiefs intercepted Manning four times and Osweiler once. Manning's stats were five of 20 passing for thirty-five yards, no TDs, four INTs, a fumble and two sacks. And got benched by his coach on the day he broke Brett Favre's career passing record. :lol:
Only complaints I have about the Chiefs' performance this time around is that several of those field goals we kicked should have been TDs - push the darn ball down the field, Alex! -and defensively they sort of coasted through most of the fourth quarter and let the Broncos spoil the shutout.
Otherwise, they flat-out smashed the Donkeys right in the chops. Eric Berry, in particular, was on the warpath tonight - he absolutely blew up three different Broncos with hard hits - and that cheap-shot artist Von Miller got a stiff dose of his own medicine from the Chiefs' Jah Reid. Not to mention Ware getting himself kicked out of the game after he threw a punch at Jeremy Maclin on Charcandrick West's 80-yard TD reception; that was just icing on the cake. :lol:
