Posted this in the semi auto and collectibles section with nary a hit, so will pose the question here...
When (by sn) did Ruger get rid of their red background medallions in the grip frame of their 22/45 pistols? I'm speaking of the non-wood grip models.
Sometime in the 228- prefix as well as the 270- prefix they replaced their regular medallions with "Sturmless" R plastic buttons.
So far on the RF spots there have been two replys, both 228- guns (up to 228-46xxx - at least 4/23/2007) with red medallions. So I'm eager to hear from anybody with a higher numbered 228- gun or any 270- prefix gun higher than 270-00023.
