What is the significance of the “M” ?

S&W had a recall on something about the trigger. Free fix for life (kinda like the Ruger OM conversion) and the factory places the M stamp on the crane near the serial number. Only happened on the “no dash” 686s I believe.

Makes me wonder if it was a recall on ALL the L frame no-dash guns.
