I picked this 5.5" new model Super Blackhawk .44 at a recent gunshow then decided to make some grips for it. They are Amboyna burl that was crosscut.

I have been making 1911 grips for years, but this was my first attempt at revolver grips. What do you think?

Very nice to say the least. Looks as good as if you have been making revolver grips for years too. Great Job!

I think they look great. The color & grain work well with the stainless. The only thing I would do to improve them is put some Ruger emblems in 'em- but that's prolly just me.

I'll be needing a couple pairs for my NM Flattops...let me know wher to send check.

Very nicely done! Mine would need medallions though. Just look too bare without them.

Thanks alot guys, I appreciate it!

Actually I am new to making single action grips. I made one other set about 25 years ago for a pistol I still have.

All it takes is a steady hand and lots of patients. I have about 5 hours total time in them, plus the finish dry and re coat time. I know the fit could be slightly better. The wood to frame fit is very close, but not perfect like I would have liked to get it. Heck, the gun's not perfect anyways, so the grips match! :D I am not dissing Ruger, it's a used gun I got for a very good price.

Also, I would like to add the Ruger emblems, so if anyone here knows where I can get them, please let me know. I have installed lots of Colt emblems in 1911 grips, so that will be easy for me if I can get them.

Thanks again for the great compliments!
