I just purchased a stainless steel Single Six .22. The quality of work looks to be excellent. In fact, of all the handguns with the exception of one Luger I have, it's the best. I use a silicon cloth to wipe the revolver. Any better method? The gun came in a plastic bag. Remove and throw away the bag or keep the revolver in the bag? Thank you

plastic bags = moisture

Wipe it down occasionally and you'll be fine. The basics are all in the manual which are free upon request from Ruger should you not have one.

I'm not sure that my single six manual even mentions car wax as an OK polish if you want to "shine" the outside (not the internals obviously). They're cleaning descriptions in the manual pretty much says don't worry about the outside. I wipe mine with some rem-oil when I'm done cleaning. that's why I like my stainless; don't need to worry about it banging around in the truck/through the woods.

Why anyone would want to try to shoot a polished stainless gun in the sunshine is beyond me!

Ah, joy! A stainless Ruger .22 cal. Single-Six is about as good as it gets for a "plinker"!

I've "dispatched" numerous Rockchucks and a few skunks with my ol' Friend!

It's also taken care of many, many dirt clods, small stones, numerous "Mormon Crickets" and whatever else needs some lead from a small bore....
