New Ruger Initiation

Ok has anyone else experienced Rugers new gun initiation where the gun welcomes you with small cuts from sharp edges. My SR1911 and Mark III have sharp edges.I don't think my SR9c has done this. Not complaining, just curious is this a Ruger trade mark?

if the gun is stainless steel, this is found ,all too often on MOST makes and models, nature of the beast. Any and all steel, "cut" or hand fitted may have edges that are and can be sharp, as well as the infamous ,Ruger Mark I,II, III target and their "can opener" front, reverse cut (undercut) sight blades, will open up any fingers, hands and slice any make or model of leather holster....GOOD luck. part of the 'learning curve'.................the rear of the 22 semi autos with the 'steel' frames, and the close, tight fit of the mainspring housing assembly into this 'slot', is another "eye" ( finger& hand) opener................yes, care and attention must be noted.............

No. Actually I thought Ruger did a good job on the SR1911 as far as sharp edges.

had a "Springer" once that was brutal. not at all the SR1911CMD. she is a sweetie.

The sharp edges I always watch out for are the edges of the slot on the ejector rod housing on the single-actions. Those will really do a number on your finger.

Have both a SR1911 and a SR1911CDR- LWT and haven't found a sharp edge on either. Better toughen up those hands guy!

+1 to that. I have a Super Blackhawk Hunter that I bought new and that slot had razor sharp edges. I removed the ERH and stoned / sanded the edges until they were more friendly to fingers.

My SP-101 had a hammer with sharp edges as well. Would bite my thumb in single action use. A bit of stone work there and problem solved.

I bought a Remington 1911R1 and the bottom of the grip area would bite my hand. Stoning and cold blue fixed that one.

Seems like a fairly common theme.
