Just picked up my new Ruger 357-LCR, sent from Bud's today. Did a few dry fires to check it out and the trigger sticks all way back and will not go forward unless I pull on it with my fingers. The problem seems to happen on the same cylinder each time. If it happens on the 5th turn then it is always the 5th turn. If I rotate the cylinder and it happens on the 3rd turn then it happens everytime on the 3rd cylinder, and so on.
Anyone else had this problem. Any suggestions on a fix or send it back tio Ruger for repair. I think I will drop a little oil on it and see if it just may be a burr that will work it's way smooth.

well. I put a drop of clp inside and dry fired is to try and smooth out a burr if any. It helped but the trigger will still stick all the way back and not return to reset itself. It does not do it as often but it is not very reliable like this. I sent ruger an email requesting a return box for repairs. I sure did want to shoot it today....grrr!
My sister bought a SP101 357 last year and we had to return it for repairs because the trigger kept binding up when fired. They took real good care of her gun and paid for shipping both ways. Just over 1 week turnround. Hope I have the same luck.

Are you allowing the triger to reset COMPLETELY on its own? You cannot "ride" a DA trigger as it needs to reset. If not, call Ruger.

Just let me say ...Yes I am. One thing about the LCR, It has a very long trigger pull ant the reset is at the end of the return stroke. Real easy to short stroke and that is not good. The one thing I don't like about it.

Case solved. "Riding" the trigger on any DA will cause a vapor lock. There is a trick. You'll sort it out.

Boge,....... Please carefully read my reply to your question as to trigger reset. "Just let me say ...Yes I am." Yes, I am allowing the trigger to reset COMPLETETLY. I have a mechanical problem with the action of my LCR. I thought it might be a burr. It is not a burr. I will send it back to Ruger for repairs. Thanks and no disrespect meant.

I was thinking that if it hangs up on the same chamber, there could be a burr on the crane spindle or inside the cylinder spindle hole itself. The burr may not be a problem with an empty cylinder. But when the cylinder is loaded, the weight of the ammo causes sufficient friction to bind the cylinder which could cause the issue you describe.

However, like others have suggested, sending the gun back to Ruger is the best thing to do.

Sorry, RR. I read your post late & misinterpreted it to mean that you were "riding" it. My mistake and my apology.

I see what you are saying but I never had ammo in the cylinders. I am just going to send it in for repair.

Got my LCR-357 back from Ruger. Took it to the range and I could not be more pleased with the service and the revolver is just awesome.

Thanks Ruger for a great job and a fantastic little revolver.

Ruger paid for shipping both ways from my front door.
Work Order... Parts Replaced:
Cylinder Assy
Trigger Assy
Release Button
Front Sight
Grip Screw
Crane
Repair: Safety function check and test fireing have been completed. Released for shipping.

They did a great job and it shoots to point of aim at 7 yards. I put a number of different 38/357 through it and it shoots like a custom tuned gun.
