New Red Ryder

Daisy has a new Red Ryder out for the 75th Anniversary. Being so close to Christmas, and having just watched "A Christmas Story" - (You'll shoot your eye out kid!) I couldn't resist.
Should make for a fun winter with my 6 year old daughter shooting plastic army men against a blanket in the garage!

A few yrs back I got my FIL one for Christmas, then went back and got me one. He had tears on his face when he opened it. Said he'd had one as a boy,t he memories flooded back. Ole steve cleared the fence by a mile that day ! But I hang cans of various sizes from trees and bushes in the backyard. We do the "bet'cha can't hit that !" Ting !

Dang that is a lot to pay for a Red Ryder. The last time I bought one it was $4.95. Well I guess that might have been a few years ago like 1948. Well maybe not. $4.95 would be $48.50 today. The problems with the new ones is when you pull the trigger with the lever open. IT DOESN'T SMACK your fingers

Nice, never had a Red Ryder, had the cheaper plastic stocked version that looked close to it when I was 6. Endless fun for a kid able to roam around a small farm.

If not for any other reason I better respond to this post considering my signature line. Fun to shoot a firearm that you can follow the projectile with the naked eye. Good on you Cowboy; you're going to have fun with your daughter and love those pictures Jim. My compliments to your parents for buying you a pair of jeans you could grow in.

Like most things gun related, the older ones are a lot better made.

My dad's 1947 +/- vintage one at the top, and an early 90's at the bottom. Though the newer one does have a non factory, genuine ivory front sight. (sight got broken off and at the time I happened to have a couple keys from an old piano) lol

We have 5 of them floating around here, they are great fun. The favorite is the youth model red ryder, it is shorter than the standard. I was thinking of making it into a mare's leg.

I learned to shoot with a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun !! I still remember the tubes of BB's you could buy in the stores.

A Daisy Red Ryder was the beginning of my firearms addiction. I had a lot of fun and learned to shoot with it.

NAAAAAAAAAA she probably bought dolls. She was my neighbor and two years older.
What do you mean years out of them??? I still wear them Had to let out the waist but not the length.
