NEW MODEL FLAT TOP picture thread?

How bout a NMFT picture thread.

First one I owned was a 44 spl, but I let a friend beat me out of it when I was moving from 44 to 45. then I had a 357 50th model, but let it go since my OM flattop fills that need.

Dont miss the 357, but I wouldn't mind picking up another 44. However, my heart belongs to my 45 convertible. I want a second 45 before another 44.

Anyway, I posted this pic in the revolvers section when a feller asked about the NMFT 45, but I want this thread to include all NMFT's... so how bout it?

Here are my New Model Flat Tops, along with a gratuitous Old Model Flat Top for good measure.

First the safe queens - the only two guns I've never shot. One I bought new and one came from Axehandle and I don't think it has been shot since leaving Ruger.



Ruger 44 Special in stainless steel. Bought for a project that isn't going to happen. Probably sell someday when time permits.



Next is a Ruger 44 Special with 7-1/2" barrel, one of the first batch commonly called "Shootist's Mistake" guns but more accurately should be called Ruger's Mistake.



Next up is a stock Ruger Bisley in 44 Special. Smoothed up inside but otherwise stock.



And finally, a semi-custom. Ruger 44 Special, CCH by Turnbull, grips are Dall sheep by Grasshorn. Got it from GW425 here on the forum. Had a Turnbull CCH'd stock hammer, hiding in my parts box now, but I stuck a modified Bisley hammer in it.

Moving into the custom world we have



A Bowen built five shot 45 Colt on a 357 50th Anniversary gun. Bushog had this one built. Cary Chapman Merino sheep grips. My current favorite grab and shoot gun.



The final custom is another Bowen built 50 shot in 50 GI, also built on a 50th Anniversary gun. Has Cary's black micarta grips. Wish it had a Bisley hammer, but I'm not gonna mess with Hamilton's action work!!

And finally, the OM 357 Flat Top - fodder for conversion someday.



It wears some ivory grips I picked up from Robb. Have another set of Persinger ivory it usually wears, but I had tried these on here and haven't gotten around to swapping back.

I am a big flat top fan. Paired up with Bisley hammers and I'm a bigger fan. Throw in an S&W barrel and I'm pretty well satisfied.

Well this is a timely thread for myself. Just picked up one of the Talo SS Flattops recently. Now I have both the SS and the Blued. Both are stock except that I swapped out the ejector rod for a crescent shaped one.

Nothing special but here are my two:

First is a 5.5" Bisley with a #5 Belt Mtn base pin and Mexican Eagle carved right grip panel.

Next is a 4-5/8" that is bone stock. Zane is working on some mesquite grips for this one.

The shorty is becoming a fast favorite. As a side note I did the leather work and made the knife and I finally figured out picture posting.

I don't know how I missed this thread. My semi custom 44 spec flat top. I had Jack Huntington extend/reshape the grip frame, make the fiddleback Claro walnut grips and fit a Bisley hammer. My original plan was to have this one converted to a .480, but it was just too good of a shooter.
