I am looking at this to buy. I still haven't received my books from Chet so I can't check. Seller says there were few made. Listed at $425.00 Is it a rare bird?? Thanks

At that price it doesn't matter if in good shape.
That one was made in 1992. But could be a clean up gun made in 2007 if it has the hard plastic grey box.

Rarity? Depends on which model:

RB-32 = Fluted cylinder and drift-adj-for-windage-only rear sight - common
RB-32A = Fluted cylinder and Adjustable rear sight - RARE
RB-32W = Engraved cyl and drift-adj-for-windage-only rear sight - RARE
RB-32AW = Engraved cyl and Adjustable rear sight - common
RB-32AW = Engraved cyl and Adjustable rear sight with arrow stamp bottom of cyl frame ahead of trigger guard - EXTREMELY RARE

Thanks Jim. It has adjustable sights so I asked the seller if it has the arrow marking. Here this is a prohibited handgun because it is in 32 caliber. Go figure. So, unless it is a super find, I am not interested as I have too many prohibs now and they are hard to market here. It has the unfluted engraved cylinder. Dave

I think I can. Don't quote me. When the zealots were restructuring our firarms laws in regards to handguns they were attempting to legislate out the "Saturday night specials". Their idea of SNS's was small concealable handguns of poor quality. There were so many different shapes and brands that some pea-brain decided that they could best accomplish this task by prohibiting center fire and rim fire cartridge handguns of small caliber, .22, .25, .32. So be it!! So, the wonderful, quality made Ruger SS in 32 falls into this bracket. Oh yes, they allowed those who possessed them to be "grand-fathered" to keep them until their death and then "Big Brother" will confiscate and destroy them. So, only those with the prohib credit on their Possession Acquisition Certificate can possess and buy and sell them. Eventually we all die of old age and the Government accomplishes their task. It is the same here for full autos and specified assault type weapons. Look over your shoulders my friends. Dave
