I've been a member for a couple of years but this is my first thread so Howdy

I'm interested in the Bearcat Shopkeeper but as usual none of the shops around here have one I can fondle so I thought I'd ask the experts.

My question is....are the new models' frames larger than the original?

Thanks
Charlie

They sure seem to be the same size to me. Haven't done any measuring. As far as the shopkeeper I had an early one (relatively speaking) and they have a 3" barrel. Later they also brought one out with a 3-1/2" barrel Easier to get the cases out of the longer one. With the 3"ers you have to get them out with your fingernails. I've only seen the 3-1/2" in blue while my 3" was stainless. Doesn't mean the 3-1/2 doesn't come in stainless, I haven't seen one. Actually I haven't seen a lot of either.

I just order one myself on the 7th. Dealer said Lipsey's show 47 in stock. Should easily be able to get one, looking forward to the pictures.

I had a Bearcat from back in '66 that I sold in '85 for five times what I paid
for it. I then paid twice that for a stainless one a few years later.

Either the stainless one has some changes from the original, or I learned
to shoot, in between, because it sure shoots better than the original.

REALLY happy with mine. 8)

Here's the pic I promised.
It's right at home with my Single Six.

Yea....after seeing mine my friend wants a stainless one so I spent over an hour looking for a 3.5" stainless.....all I found were 3".

There's lots of both blue and stainless on Gunbroker.

I bought the Stainless. That blued looks really good. I wish the stainless were 3.5" also. It would help on the unloading process. But I Love mine anyway.

jstanfield103, On The Unloading Process. I Have Read On Here That If You Rotate The Cly. A Bit You Can Catch The Mouth Of The Spent Round And Shove It Out . No Finger Nails Needed. I Haven't Tried It Yet.
