New mid frame rugers from Lipseys?

Has there been any news on these? I'm hoping for some new offerings. .41mag or special, .327 Federal, .40 S&W, .44-40 or 38-40. Anyone heard anything?

I really doubt the 41 magnum or 41 special...The 41 spl especially. It doesn't exist to major gun manufacturers. That's only a custom proposition. Which could also get you into any of those other calibers listed. Why wait, call your neighborhood 'smith and get in line. Make it yours from the ground up!

+1...and make that .327 a .32-20 convertible, and the .40 a .38-40 convertible -- both New Vaquero and Flattop of course :)

Let's see. We've gotten Flat Tops in .357, .44 Mag, .41 Mag, .44 Spl, and .45 Colt. Where do they go from here? Not that I'm discouraging anyone. I've liked them all, so far.

Yeah, but the OP specified mid-size frames, which eliminates the 41 Mag on the large frame previously produced.

I'd love to see a 41 Mag on the "357" flat top frame.

1+ on the 40 S&W/ 38-40 New Vaquero. I was lucky enough to find one of the original Vaqueros in that combination and it is one awesome shooter. Using John Taffin's on-line article on the 38-40, you can dang near get 41 mag ballistics out of that cartridge. You can also shoot the readily available 40 S&W ammo for practice / plinking. It would be the coolest combo yet in a mid-frame format.

I hope Jason can make it happen. My 44 special New Vaquero from Lipsey's is one of my favorites.

I would have to have the 32-20 combo as well.

I am interested in all of the proposed chamberings.

Although 38-40 or 44-40 in a mid size frame is perfectly feasible on a custom basis or using other manufacturers cylinders in your Ruger.

However as a factory item the consesus is that it can not happen even as a limited edition. For the reason why see Driftwood Johnson's post in this thread:

I would have that cylinder reamed out to 10mm so fast heads would spin!

Since we're just 'wishing', how about interchangeable cylinders? One could even wish for 3 cylinders - one in 38-40, one in 40 S&W, and one in 10mm! :shock:
I'd like the low Montado hammer, too (since I have small hands).
The stainless 45acp birds head turned out to be just the right package for me, Thank you Lipsey's very much!!

+1 a combo I've had "planned" for some time for my 5.5" .357 NV. Here's my vision of my dream gun. Via Bowen, Clements etc--do a "triple threat" as you say. To visually distinguish between: 1st Gen type BP beveled .38-40, no bevel .40 (just factory NV minor bevel), and fluteless 10mm. Turnbull CCH. Bisley hammer. Might go to extent of having it round butted, but notagotta. Drool.

Thanks for clarifying, what I meant radiused all around! All others (ironically except current Colt even on their "BP" spec'd (front screwed) Colts, at least not standard) do this, wish Ruger did too--at least on the "cowboy" fixed sight guns.

Well, works for me! We need to add another cylinder yet, .401 PowerMag!

I know Harton, Bowen and other have built .41 mags on medium frames, so a .401 should be completely doable.

Oh yeah!
