New Hawkeye 6.5x55

My new Hawkeye Ruger M77 came today and it's a beauty. Came with a real nice walnut stock. Funny thing the box say's MK II but the rifle say's Hawkeye on the receiver and floor plate. Also has the new trigger in it. Should be a real shooter!

The 6.5 x 55 is a great cartridge, and is quite capable of taking any game you want except for the big bears. I have the 6.5 Creedmoor, and bought it because I had the opportunity to get one in stainless. One of the better points for the 6.5 caliber, is it handles cast bullets very well. Another good point, it is capable of fine accuracy for varmints, and with hand loads can be loaded up reasonably hot. ENJOY!!!

You kiddin?? You don't see may Hawkeye rifles in 6.5x55!! In fact, that's the first one I've heard of and its not in the 2012 catalog.
patrickjames, can you send me a PM on the serial number so I can get that one documented in the "Reference of Ruger Firearms"?
I'm also curious what the model number is on the bottom of the box.

I just won a 6.5 x 55 rifle on GunBroker and am awaiting its arrival. The listing said Hawkeye but the box end said MK II. I asked for clarification from seller after I noticed the variation (which was after I had won the auction) but he was not helpful. The serial number on the box also begins with 711 (can't read it on the rifle) and the picture of the box reflects the same model number as yours (07895). Not sure of the barrel length, listing and picture of box doesnt say.The wood is only average. I hope it turnes out to be a Hawkeye too.

Williams shooting supply had about 30 of them. This is where this one came from. 22 inch Bbl with no sights.

If Ruger had made a LH version, I wouldn't have had to order an E.R. Shaw rifle. Might have it in another 9 months.
