Y'all know I'm sort of attracted to western hats. So, recently I was in an antique mall when I spotted two western hats. One was silver belly, a Stetson, I think, and another one. The light colored hat had a smudge on it, so I passed it up and tried this one on. Its brand new, a 4X Resistol, a George Straight model. It fit and the price seemed right, $39 asking price. Well, I decided to get the hat, and lo and behold! it was 25% off the marked price, $29 +tax.

O.K. Not Sunday-go-to-meeting quality, but good enough for everyday come fall.

What a bargain. It's always a treat to getup to the register and get even more off what was already a good price. I never could figure why they don't advertise it at the display.

Now THAT'S a nice looking hat. I'm always on the lookout, but hard to find stuff for this big 'ol noggin...

Nice hat! You look like you belong in that hat; like you were made for it.

I've always wanted a leather cowboy hat but really didn't want to wear it around town; only out in the woods. I found one on Ebay and I love it. Thing is, I only wear it on my property usually when we're having a campfire or drinking a cold one at sunset in the Summer. If I were to wear it all the time, it wouldn't be special.

I found a very nice Resistol in the house we had just bought, not even a stain on the sweat band.
The wife and daughters had a yard sale and before I realized it,they sold it for a dollar!

Now that's a fine looking hat.

I used to wear a western hat all the time. I had a half dozen or more, Stetsons, Resistols, Baileys, and at least one Charlie One Horse. When I first met my wife, she said I had her from the second I tipped my Resistol and said, "Howdy Ma'am."

Alas, my time with western hats ended when I stopped driving a full sized pickup. They just don't fit well in a Kia Soul. :)

Yep. Remember those tall crowned ten gallon hats worn by Ken Maynard, Tex Ritter, and the like?

Trucks did them in!

It seems like a lot of the truck manufacturers have lowered the roof. I've got a long torso, and it absolutely doesn't work for me to get in a pick up with a western hat.

My problem isn't the height, it's the headrest.

I paid $150.00 for one once and later found one at the senior citizens thrift store for $6.00. Both are hard to wear getting into the truck.
