Im a nut for nice tools. And while i dont have a lot of nice tools the ones i have i am proud of.

I have a friend who is an excellent craftsman. He makes knives among other things. Well the other night i was in his shop and he was tapping on something with a brass hammer that caught my eye. "Where'd ya get that hammer, Louie?" I asked.

"I made it", came his nonchalant reply. Really??

So i begged and pleaded and he finally agreed. I had about a 6' stick of mahogany i brought him to use for the handle (and keep the rest).

It is almost too pretty to use. Hand turned on his lathe, handle and head.

That's nice. I was just looking at trying to find a brass hammer about that size! I even asked a "tool guy" about one at an auction last night.

I been meaning to buy one for a while but just never have. I told him id rather pay him but he just smiled and said, take your hammer and tap on some guns for me. Haha

Very nice indeed. I like fine tools.

Speaking of which, is that a Marlin in the background?

It is! It is my 1981 1894c that i am working on slicking up. It is a fine gun!
