Interesting. Was personally hoping for a .260 Rem, but at least the caliber choices are expanding

I think it is a great option for the GS. Be a great bear or pig gun. Glad to see more calibers being offered.

I'm also surprised at the caliber choice but several states that used to limit big game hunting to shotguns have now approved "straight case" rifle rounds also. Ruger may see sales potential for the GS Scout in this market along with the American offering.

I have a Gibbs in 45/70 and a GSR in 308, but I can see picking up one of these. Definitely lots of thump and using cast bullets at milder velocities would be fun.

I wonder if the 450 Bushmaster was chosen because it's rimless vs the 460 S&W that is rimmed.

I had forgotten about some of those rule changes. When Ohio changed, rifles that used straight wall cartridges flew of the shelves there & across the river here in Ky. With those changes, plus the spread of wild pigs, adding a .450 to the lineup makes perfect sense. 8)

450 is a great cartridge been shooting one for about 3 years out of a AR platform,one nasty round with lilgun powder and a Barnes bullet.

The American in that caliber has been pretty successful. I guess Ruger decided that people who are willing to spend twice as much would like one too. If it a nice looking rifle.
