New Gen 2 Ruger American Rifles

I have one in 7mm08 in the shop. I like it. I'm trying to get a couple more. I think they are much nicer than the 1st gen and worth the extra $$.
Obviously I have not shot it, if I ever get the chance to zero one I don't think I will be disappointed.

Sure got some funky lookin rifles out there today. No end to the synthetic stocks that look pretty weird to me. Not knockin em as I am sure they are selling. Make sense often for hunting in inclement weather. Feel old fashioned with my walnut shiny blued 700 but that is what I prefer.

I looked at two of these this afternoon at my LGS, one in 7.62x39 and another in 300 Blackout...Didn't hate them! In fact, that 300 BLK, or one like it, may very well come home with me sometime in the near future

I wish they had released these as the Predator and Ranch models and left the standard line alone, and affordable. Leaving a budget friendly option makes sense to me.

I love my Gen 1, agree that affordability and quality should have remained priorities.

I looked at the 204 in a shop the other day and was pleasantly surprised out how light they actually are I thought they were going to be heavier with that new barrel. I wish if they are going to install the brake they would at least give you a thread protector also incase you want to take the brake off. The stock seems nice enough and I like the grey color with the webbing. Good luck all
