Long time shooter/collector. Retired to AZ or so I thought! Got to tour the Ruger plant in Prescott. Don't think there is a more gun friendly place on the planet. Was happy to die there. Bride of 40years said she could make that happen, soooo . here I am in upstate SC.

Slowly finding places to shoot and reliable shops. Still looking for a gunsmith. Got spoiled by the guys at LRK Mechanical in Prescott.

Used to post all the time on another ruger forum but that seemed to disappear.

Kinda partial to single actions. Just picked up a new stainless single six convertible for a new grandson. Got a Bearcat shop keeper, done by Tyler Gunworks for the first. Singlesix will need a trip back to ruger. Magnum cylinder is binding and rounds won't fully seat. Bought a Henry Homestaeder as well and that had to go back. Very quick and customer friendly at Henry. Hope ruger is as easy.

Sorry for the rambling post. Welcome any suggestions about shooting in upstate SC . So far not crazy about boiled peanuts (mushy) and haven't made up my mind about grits yet.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio.

Sorry I don't know anything about SC other than a couple trips to Myrtle Beach. That part was nice. LOL

Welcome from the upstate. You could look up Belton gun club I’ve been a member o for years. If you like we can get together and show you around and do some shooting

I was looking at that Belton Club website. Have to go out and take a look. Done a fare share of IDPA and steel. Not much of a shotgun shootter. see there is a Spartanburg county run range not far from me, but hearing that they are not open much.

At Belton there’s about 8 50 yard ranges, 1 100yard range and 1, 300 yard range.and a bunch for cowboy Idpa and such

Welcome to the area & the Forum! I'm not too far from you! I'm at the south edge of Lake Lure,, !!

As for a place to shoot,, I do own a gun range,, but it's not open to the public. But we do shoot USPSA here once a month. You are welcome to that! (No you do not have to be a member of USPSA to enjoy shooting matches.) There are also a few other USPSA places in the Upstate. Spartanburg has a good place, & there is some type of competition almost every weekend.

ALSO,,,,,,, I do hold a once a year, "Ruger Forum East Coast Gathering" at my place. We enjoy socializing, shooting, (not just Rugers,) and eating! Consider this an invite. And, if you want to see a bit about it,, do a search around this forum for past events.
