I just bought a new Nikon D800 full frame digital camera. The best thing about this camera is it has a sensor with a whopping 36 MP!!! No that's not a typo. It's 36 MP. What's so good about it is you can take a picture and serverely crop it and not run out of pixels.
See the two pictures below. The first is the full picture taken with a Nikon 28-300 MM/f3.5 - 5.6. taken at 300 MM. As you can see it was taken at 75 to 100 yards away. The deer was in the woods and shaded and somewhat dark.
Now this picture was croped and the exposure & color improved in photoshop. As you can see, with 36MP there were plenty of pixels left over to crop this photo and get a decent picture out of it.
