I have a New Blackhawk in 45 colt it is a 4&5/8 barrell ,has black rubber grips

and is SER# 47-675zz. It is in very good to fine shape (with exception of me

taking the pin out of the front site and rounding it to about half the size of a dime).

I dont like high frount sites with an adjustable rear. What would be the year of

manuafacter and how much should I ask for it were I try to sell it?

Thanks in advance for any replys ,and I know pictures would be needed but other

than the grips and frount sight is in very fine shape.

I am confused at this part. So what exactly did you do to the front site? Did you shorten it which wouldn't be a good thing. Or maybe did you thin it up a bit as in width?

 What? Hmm, the laws of Physics dictate that the shorter the barrel the taller the front sight needs to be.

Awww, what in heck did Newton know anyway??

7-1/2" barrel with a wee bit trimmed off the top of the front sight.

4-5/8" barrel with a very tall front sight. Both guns shoot to point of aim.

I just took the pinned tall blade off(so I wouldn't bugger up the finnish on the blade ramp)

while I turned the front blade ito something more like a Smith hand ejector rounded blade.

I'm thinking I could get another oem blade to pin back if needed, while I shoot my short

barreled guns like Bob M does point shoot , no real aiming . I aqquired this skill or lack of

when I was 13 shooting lizzards in a sand pit with a bearcat. I was mearly wanting to know

what my gun might be worth with say the proper front blade would be,I could get the wood

grips as well but the large rubber ones are what make this gun work for me.

I understand what flatgate is saying .
