New Blackhawk won't chamber?

My cousins son purchased a New Blue Blackhawk in .44 Mag, 4 5/8" barrel the other day and it will not chamber some factory ammo. ALL ammo that it does chamber are very hard to remove after firing. Everything has been factory ammo that has been fired. Ever hear of this? Thought I'd ask before calling Ruger.

Have you cleaned it. I've often been amazed at the crud I've gotten out of "new" firearms. I honestly don't think manufacturers clean firearms after test firing. They just box them up and ship them out.

I had similar occur on a 45C original Vaquero and sent it back to NH. No issues now.

Chambers on the new one are almost .005 smaller than on my old one. Very sharp square edges to compared to my old one.

Call Ruger, get the prepaid shipping tag and send it off. You'll get it back within 2 weeks!

Tell him not to force anything, don't hammer on the ejector rod, and don't keep shooting it as-is. It will only get more frustrating. This is a simple fix for a fantastic revolver that's just a little "crusty" from the factory. Once it's smoothed out, that Blackhawk will probably eat anything and spit out empties with a flick of the thumb. It's worth the hassle.
