Bored today... Found a shooter Bearcat in a Bucheimer holster and couldn't pass it up....

Cleaned up pretty well, it's been shot and will be shot more... I'm sure it will be a fun shooter as well as look cool at the same time

Yee-haw! That looks like a great little shooter!

Well, only one problem............. the holster is for
the wrong side... :D

you must be a lefty also..lol... It's really "for the wife" who's a righty :-) Course I haven't told her I got her a toy yet..lol.. So it will work for "her" okay

I've got the serial number sent off to Ruger to get the shipping date, if it falls into the 1970 year, it will be same year my wife was born.... According to the book I've got here, it's states that it's closer to a 1969 build

Late edit. Response from Ruger indicates that it was it was shipped in July of 1969.

Philomath Guns is my place of choice (and many others).

Here's the deal with the price I paid. I often go into Wes's shop and bicker on stuff and end up walking away with both of us feeling like we just wasted our time. I low balled him pretty hard on a No. 1 recently, so I didn't work too hard on lowering the price on this piece.

It's not a bad specimen by any means, but it has been used and shows it age. No box, no literature and I paid the price as if it had these items.

I like the owner (Wes) and visit often (about once a week). The other gentleman that works there is a good guy also, I don't want them sighing ever time I walk in the door as if I'm a habitual tire kicker and low-baller looking for a tremendous deal.

With the holster, I paid in between 3 and 4 bills.

If I was looking for a great specimen, I'd be looking at several models on GB right now. Just a little more than I paid for what appears to be in better condition with the box and literature.

Thanks for sharing. I travel between Phoenix and Bellingham and East to Salt Lake. I do my best to hit the small out of the way shops but I guess I have been missing the close to home places. Phoenix was different this week. Guys seemed suspious of an out of towner pawing over their pieces. I love to surprise them with a call to my FFL and watch their eyes light up when the fax machine rings. Almost as much fun as finding something I am hunting for. Found a decent SS Bearcat in a small place in Idaho a few months ago. I almost broke my hand getting the cash out of the pocket. That one even beat me home since it was early in the week. Now if I could only find the elusive 91/2" SS Single Six at a decent price.
