Looks like the following are to be new 2011 chamberings:

1A: .300 RCM
.303 British
.308
6.5 Creedmore
.
1B: .264
6.5 Creedmore

1H: .416 Ruger
.458 Lott

1RSI: .300 RCM

1S: .338 RCM

Don't carve this in stone, just going by what what I read/see.

Shouldn't the Creedmore be chambered as a "V"??

Maybe a factory 264. I could pull mine apart and use the action for something else I guess.

The rest, yawn. ;-)

Are these distributor specials?

We have laready heard that the 2011 cataloguw wil have no 1Bs and a V in the Creedmore

1B.

These are, as far as I know, regular catalog models.

With so many not going for iron sights now I gotta believe the B's will remain, especially since the folks generally buying the #1's are the older crowd so with aging eyes, those sights become difficult to use.

Told my brother I'll probably order a #1 soon. The .303 is the top candidate unless I decide to go with a Lipsey's (.257 or .30-30) Gotta check his recent flyers for Williams' first.

One wonders when if they'll ever give up trying to find SOME configuration that the 308 will work in , in the #1?

This iwould be the 3rd time around, 4 if you count the stainless and blued "B" seperately and evry one has been untimately canceled due to low sales.

The 308 "AB" was ptobably the second most common non prefix 1967 -1969 and didn't make the change over to 130 serialed rifles in 1970.

They have always been very slow sellers in the #1.

This will be :interesting".

Exactly! The 1A in .308 hasn't been available since the non-prefix guns either. I'd just about guarantee a 1A in .308 won't be a good seller as its only been a few years ago that a re-introduction of a 1B .308 was discontinued again.
Collectibility-wise.....I'm betting on the 1A .308. Neat gun!!

Sorry, but I am not familiar with the history of chamberings in the #1. Is this the first time that the 1A has been offered in .308? Thanks.

On the .308 in 1A; No, but it is the first time in 40 years!! And those made over 40 years ago are quite uncommon. The model was available with and without sights and the one with sights is the scarcest!
