I was watching the old Steve McQueen movie today, "Nevada Smith" and near the start of the movie he has what appears to be an over/under percussion muzzleloader. The gun appears to be a drilling and looks like it has a rifle barrel over a shotgun barrel. There also appears to be two "tubes" on each side between the barrels, possibly for the ramrods? I checked the Internet movie Firearms Database to see what it was but the movie isn't listed except for one entry under Steve McQueen with no link that only IDs a Single Action Army for "Nevada Smith". Attached are a couple of screen captures with the gun. Anybody have an idea what it is?...

Been wondering for almost 40 years what that rifle is that Steve McQueen is carrying in the opening sequences of "Nevada Smith". Is that a "real" rifle or a made-up prop?

The following information is copied from here: http://www.littlejohnsauctionservice.com/

LOT 94
Over/Under combination rifle-shotgun, by "F.WEISS PORT JERVIS N.Y." and so marked on .44 cal. rifle barrel which now appears smooth at the muzzle, both barrels are faceted at the breech for 9" then turn round, the rifle barrel with a large, added ramp sight and an adjustable rear sight. The walnut stock, with checkered wrist, mounted in German silver, backaction locks with very graceful hammers. A well-crafted piece. Used by actor Steve McQueen in "Nevada Smith" (Paramount 1966), "S318". Est.: $5,000-$10,000.

Internet movie firearms data base. I sometimes have trouble navigating the site, but it list nearly every firearm used in most every movie.

Fun, educational & sometimes soothing to help with a question ya think ya know the answer to, but just can't pull it out of the cobwebs of the mind.

Already tried that but "Nevada Smith" isn't listed and looking under Steve McQueen it only lists "Single Action Army" with no associated link for "Nevada Smith". Looks like Sacramento Johnson has the answer in post #2 anyway. (Thanks SJ).
