Maybe this has been covered already and if it has, I apologize.

It seems that everyone is talking about the limited documentary series on Netflix called “Tiger King” now that we’re trapped in our homes concerning this awful virus.

My wife wanted me to watch it so I watched the first episode. Basically it’s about some guys who raise tigers, lions and exotic animals in private zoos and a woman who fights against them.

The first episode was mildly interesting but then we watched the 2nd episode and I was not impressed! It was like watching these silly “non-reality” shows that are so wildly popular now. I told my wife from here on out, she can watch it without me. :)

Hey, if you folks like this sort of stuff, that’s really fine and to each their own! I’m just amazed that stuff like this can captivate such huge audiences!

By the way, I hope all you wonderful gun guys and girls are doing well during these trying times and God bless.

I've watched the first two episodes of "Tiger Kings" and agree with the OP. I found it moderately interesting, but not sure I will bother watching however many more episodes there are. But what starts out as the comparison between one crazy guy with megalomania versus his nemesis being a caring conservationist woman evolves into a much more complex situation. I found it somewhat fascinating to see people cavorting with these big cats, any one of which could easily kill the person if he or she so chose to do so. This series also shows us a world unto itself that I had no idea existed, but the truth is that there are numerous "worlds" or groups in our society that operate somewhat apart from the mainstream and where most of us are totally unfamiliar with it. Some that come to mind that most would be aware of but likely know little about are the crazy show dog people and the child beauty pageant people.

This just reminded me of something that sort of astonished me at the time. As a kid I was a stamp collector and thought I was pretty knowledgeable about this subject, at least up to the late 1950's. But in the 1980's I was the Executive Officer of a large free standing Army Health Clinic, and one of the docs that worked for me was a board certified surgeon whose real love was his stamp collecting. But he was not a casual collector as I was when I was a kid. He collected the stamps from only state in India (he was not of Indian background or ancestry). I had never even heard of the state that he specialized in. I jokingly said that he must be the only American collecting these stamps and he showed me the newsletter of the society of collectors of stamps from this one Indian state. They had about 1,000 people on the mailing list in this country alone. It made me aware of how many little societies exist all around us that most of us are totally oblivious to. To me, the people who own and breed big cats were as unknown as the Indian state stamp collectors were to me almost 40 years ago.

It's a roller coaster series for sure. I found episode 1 entertaining then episode 2 disgusting. Almost quit there. Then watched episode 3 and got into it again. Episode 3 was the best and showed Carrol in a whole new (terrible) light. The hypocrisy from the animal rights folks is unreal. Anyway, watched the whole series. Can't say it was time real well spent, but considering the circumstances, it was time spent.

My youngest adult daughter, stuck at her home, got sucked into watching it (she watched the entire thing).

She later called it a "train wreck"...…….

No, thanks...……………………………….

Another good series I watched on Netflix, Season 1 of “Virgin River”. 10 episodes. Good story.
Wow. Thread drift in ONE post. Might be a new record.

It’s one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen. I lose interest in 90% of things on Netflix but I watched the entire series in a day and a half. And apparently there is one additional episode airing this weekend.
