Just bought a new Ruger RBHV 455 I dont know about the model # Ruger puts on there guns. It is 45 colt 5.5 barrel blued with case coloring. Looks new in the box and papers I know its a Vaquaro but dont know if I can shoot heavy loads in it. Paid 450.00 good or bad?

I can't decipher Ruger's Vaquero codes, so I can't tell what you have by that. If the frame says just "Ruger Vaquero", you can shoot the heavier Ruger-only loads. If it reads "Ruger New Vaquero", then only use the regular level loads. $450 seems a bit high, but if you are happy it doesn't matter.

As noted,, if the mainframe states "Vaquero" then you are on the heavier, (Blackhawk) frame. If it says "New Vaquero" then it's on the smaller frame,, meant for milder loads. The serial number is an excellent way to get info as well.
But for the model info to decipher the codes; the RENE Guide is invaluable. I THINK you may have mis-typed your info above. A Vaquero such as RBNV-455, (not RBHV) would be a "blue Ruger Bisley New model Vaquero with color case hardned frame. in 45 Colt cal with a 5-1/2" barrel." Notice the first 6 words in that description,, how 4 of them are capatilized? That's the info that describes your gun.
If that is correct,, you have a Vaquero,, NOT a New Vaquero,, and it can handle the heavy loads.
BTW; the price was very fair.

I agree with "Contender" - $450 is a good price for a NIB, with box, blued /CCH, Bisley Vaquero in 45LC.

Prices do vary a bit from place to place, from market to market. The internet is making the whole country one market. You might hang out on an auction site like gunbrokers.com for a while to get a feel for what's going on.

To further muddy the waters on Models

BNV-455 blued model Vaquero
KRBNV-455-i stainless Bisley Ivorex grips
KRBN-455W stainless Bisley Blackhawk
BN-455 blue blackhawk

All .45 Colt with 5 1/2 barrels. Looks to me like the R designates Bisley.

Thanks all for the help I quess I wast very clear my bad. The gun is a Ruger box says RBNV-455 45 colt SN#056-41xxx. The main frame says Ruger Vaquero and yes it is a Bisley. So from what I gather it is OK to shoot stiff 45 colt through it. Thanks again for the input.

Yes, but, of course, there is a limit!
One can even blow up a full sized Ruger!
