I have a Speed Six NIB that is marked SS 84L in 38 Special. The problem is that all of the one that I seen are U.S. marked on the frame and this one is not. Are these rarer then the US marked ones or more common. Thanks for the help. I will some photos posted shortly.

Either version is a grail gun for me, and although I've tried, I've never been able to keep up with the high bidding.

The story...These were overruns from the government contract, but Ruger held on to them for quite some time til they metered them out a few years ago, a housecleaning so to speak.

Here's a little reading... http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=101192

WAYNO.

Thanks for the info. What have they been selling for? This one is NIB and has never been fires beyond the factor test firing. I think until it came into my possession it had not been removed from the white water proof bag.

What's it worth compared to what do they sell for? Highly inflated, but if they sell for inflated prices, I guess that's what they're worth.

The search function of this forum is not working very well, as I'm trying to do some searching for a fairly recent thread regarding one of these that was available on an auction site. No luck with my search today, so I must rely on my memory bank, which is sometimes low on funds.

The "blue book" would indicate 8-to-900-dollars for a pristine example. When I chased this recent one, I gave up at $900. Seems it went for fifteen-ish. I hope one of the other guys that followed this auction will chime in.
