My SR1911 getting loose

Has anyone noticed the SR1911 starting out pretty tight but then loosening? I have noticeable up and down/side to slide play with the slide now as I did not at the start. It still shoots pretty well but I wonder if this is just the norm? This is my first 1911 and I have not more than 250 rounds through it.

Do you see or find shavings from excessive wear?

I have not noticed any shavings. I just cleaned it and it looks normal.

Sounds like normal break in to me.

Many guns come from the factory a little tight. Kimber (I have two of their 1911's) says to shoot 500 rounds of hardball through their 1911's as a break-in. A little loosening up should be normal.

If it goes from really tight to a slide or barrel that rattles like a pair of castenets when it is in battery, then I would be worried. Otherwise, no prob.

I noticed thge same with mine too. The slide was not loose at all when brand new and after 100 rounds the slide can move up and down.

Happened with mine too. Asked this question at a different forum. Just because it was my first 1911 and I didnt want it to be because of me, and consensus was everything is normal! Keep shooting it!
