Once in a while I go to my local Gander Mountain and see what's in the used gun case. For $325 plus tax I walked out with this GP100; 1987 with a 6" barrel. It also has been down the road from me (about 35 miles) to MagnaPort for a QuadraPort job:

I haven't shot it yet but I have to say that both the single action and double action trigger pull is buttery smooth. I can't wait to shoot it.

Looks like about 4" travel before the ports. I'm guessing .357 would be about like a .22. The only way I'd buy a GP is half-lug. I believe you've done good.
