The newest addition to the family came in from Texas today. This Old Model Blackhawk .357 was made in 1971, and doesn't even come close to showing its age...it's in incredibly good shape.

And if you look closely, you'll see the serial number is preceded by a lightly stamped letter "D", meaning it's a duplicate serial number gun. Some of us had a long and interesting discussion on "D" guns just a few days ago on this forum (http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=188823). And during that discussion, I just went ahead and bought this gun.

So thanks again to all the people who taught me some things about duplicate serial numbered Rugers.

Good score. Congrats. And a really nice photo. ;)

Thanks. Glad you like the photo, too. Notice there aren't any sparkles on it, either. I haven't had time to go over it with the Colgate's yet. :)

Good looking old 3 screw, and a highly collectible one at that. Congrats :D

Now, not to interrupt the thread, but an aside.

WendyZXZ,

I hereby vote for your new motto as RugerForum motto of the year  YAAAAAAYYY :!:

Very nice, Bigdawg! And only 46 numbers earlier than my BKH34, pictured here:

Also in the known range of "D" guns, but obviously without the "D".

Congratulations!
