My new RPR

Won this at a gun bash (also won a CZ75SP01 Tactical), spent less then $200 total on chances. The bipod is just for the pictures. Not sure what bipod I'll get yet (leaning towards an Atlas, yes lots of money but great bipods). Not sure on the optics yet either. I will probably shoot it with and without a suppressor (probably my Rugged Suppressors Surge 762)

Not yet, but I'm leaning towards a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 first focal plane with the MRAD reticle, just have to see if the pocket book will accommodate it.

Was thinking about an Atlas bipod but my coach/advisor said save your money, get a Harris and use the leftover funds towards the scope.

The camo and grass colors are so close that the lower looks “ghosted” in both side views. Nice rig.

Well, I just pulled the trigger and ordered my scope;
Vortex Viper PST Gen II, 5-25x50, 30mm tube MRAD reticle, First Focal Plane, Illuminated.

Went ahead and got the precision matched rings and scope covers at the same time. Should be all the scope I will ever need for this rifle.

Now to work up loads to reach out and touch things from 600-1000 + yds. Going to be fun, fun, fun.

Got my scope and did a loose mounting, won't finish that up until I get the length of pull set and the cheek piece set. Then I'll take more pictures and post them.

As for the bullets for the .308 my coach likes the Hornady BTHP match 178 grain. He says those work great out to 1000 yds +

My coach said don't spend a lot on a bipod (I had been thinking of an Atlas) spend it on the scope (I did). I got this bipod at the Huntsville ROCS show for a real good price from a vendor because I am an FFL. "Coach" saw it and said it would work fine.

Can't wait for the weather to turn nice so I can get out and start working with my set up (although the closest 600+ yd range is about 45 minutes away.

Don't under scope it - it's a long range rifle, get a good scope. My coach said it right "Buy once, cry once".

Yup, I realize this thread is from April but I just got my RPR properly outfitted and had a decent enough day for a range trip. So much for a "bargain rifle". Not complaints but I managed to run up the cost a good bit swapping parts. I think I need to swap optics. My VXIII 4.5-20x50 AO was good for its time but after using Vortex PST and Razor glass on my other rifles then going to Leupy, it really makes you realize how far the technology has come and how much more I prefer a FFP scope. I see another Gen 2 PST 5-25x in my near future.
I really enjoy this RPR in .223, why they discontinued it is baffling, especially to then release 300WM and 338L. I dont see the 300WM version making the cut long term. I would bet anyone who need or thinks they need a magnum is going to go all in and get the 338L. We'll see, I may be surprised.

You a vet or LEO? They have a program on their website that helps on Vortex purchases.

ALL of these caliber swaps are in the barrel only. Everything else remains the same so very easy to hit a market till it dries up and then change the production line to a new caliber for awhile. I just bought a 223, installed a Timney straight trigger set at 1lb from the factory. I have a 6.5 CM too, but that is for 1000 yards and out I think. The 223 was ringing an 8" gong at 400 all day today.
