My "New" OM Flattop

I picked this up yesterday from one of our Ruger brothers - az6gun. I guess this would be my last of 2011.

It is an early flattop with some nice touches from Clements. I couldn't be more pleased as it is close to perfection - nice balance, exceptional fit/finish, great trigger, etc... To top it off, it shoots great too!

Modifications include a 5.5" barrel, steel full length ERH, steel ROA grip frame, #5 locking basepin, pinned front sight with two gold bars, OM Super hammer, fitted faux ivory grips...

I love it. The ivorex with OM emblems and the post front sight are perfect additions. Looks like you ended '11 on an up-note.

We should organize a Bama shooting extravaganza for sure.

I lived in Madison for over 20 yrs and use to shoot at the Swan Creek range in Decatur. I went there over Thanksgiving with my boys for the first time since I moved in '93 and was surprised in the changes - covered benches and all. :shock: Also, a lot busier than it used to be.

Oh it's nuts over there on the weekend. Or holidays. Or nice days. Or in the weeks leading up to deer season. Sometimes a bullet-proof vest is not a bad accessory.

Best time to go is during the week, if you can take a day off work or something. Or, when it's brutally hot, but still have some shade from the awnings (11-ish to 2)
